Of course, you need to plan ahead and train hard for the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon! However, along with the miles – there are some tips and ideas you can use just before and during the race to give yourself a much better and more fun experience at the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon. 

1. Cover the Route Beforehand 

We suggest that you check the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon route map a day before your race so you can get familiar with where you’ll need to push and when you can slow down a bit. Familiarising yourself with the route will also allow you to think of a strategy beforehand and will prevent you from getting lost at the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon.

3. Stay Hydrated 

Don’t neglect to drink a lot of water before the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon. Keep a bottle of water with you at all times to avoid dehydration. Dehydration may result in a decline in endurance performance. Did you know that even a 2% reduction in your body weight has been shown to negatively impact performance which can have a negative effect on the intensity of your race during the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon

4. Plan Your Timings 

You never know what unexpected circumstances might pop up on the day of the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon. Therefore, make sure that you have extra to make it to the starting line. Find time for traffic, parking, bathroom break, meeting up with friends and time to find the starting line. Plan accordingly to make sure that you don’t miss the start of the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon.

5. Lay Out Your Race Day Clothes and Gear 

The night before the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon is the perfect time to plan your clothes and gear for the next morning. When your alarm goes off on race day, you’re likely to be filled with nerves and anxiety regardless of how well your training has gone. To avoid stress on the day of the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon, have all your gear ready ahead of time.

6. Get Enough Sleep 

Sleep affects your running performance which is why you need to get to bed early the night before the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon. Have a couple of alarm clocks to make sure that you wake up on time.

7. Check the Weather Report 

The last variable that comes into play the day before the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon is the weather. You need to take precautions to prepare for whatever mother nature brings on the day of the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon. You must also choose clothing depending on the weather that day.

The Mai Dubai Community Run previously known as the Skechers Performance Run has just concluded will be held again in November 2022. The Mai Dubai Community Run has 2.5 km, 5km, and 10km races available and it’s a family-friendly event which is great if you want to bring your family with you.

The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay was held in DIFC last 9th of February 2022. The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay is the only corporate race in the world and anyone can enter as a team of 10 for a great team building activity. The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay will be back next year, 2023!
