Commonly Asked Questions

What is the route?

All distances within the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon will follow a route around DIFC. The fun and safe route will be clearly marked traffic-free with Dubai Police, Dubai Road Traffic Authority and our own event marshals managing traffic, helping motorists cross the course at designated points to ensure your safety when running.

PLEASE NOTE ALL 21KM DISTANCE RUNNERS NEED TO ADHERE TO THE ADDITIONAL LOOP ONLY ONCE WHICH HAS TO BE DONE ON THE FIRST LAP ONLY.

Where do I collect my race pack?

Race pack collection will be on 11th, 12th and 13th of October 2021 from 12:00 – 19:00 in Gate Avenue Zone D, near Carrefour opposite Hair Creators Salon. Closest parking is the Gate Avenue Parking next to Liberty House.

Race pack collection will not be available on the day due to health and safety measures. A friend, relative or colleague is allowed to pick up a race pack on your behalf provided they show your copy of registration.

All runners who have registered after 8th October, their race packs will be ready on 14th October. The team from Promoseven Sports will get in touch via email for location and timings.

All runners will be receiving a goody bag filled with fantastic gifts.

What time do the races start?

We highly suggest that all participants be ready before the start times to implement social distancing guidance and Covid-19 mitigation.

21km: 6:00 AM

10km: 6:15 AM

5km: 6:30 AM

How do I get to the start?

The Gate Avenue Car Parking is the best place to park. It’s only a round 300m walk from there to the start area.

Unfortunately, the Metro system does not operate early enough on a Friday morning.

We suggest you come by taxi or uber and ask to be taken to the Emirates Towers Metro station. This is a round 200m from the start area.

What time should you arrive?

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your race distance starts and assemble for your race start.

Where does the race start?

The Mai Dubai City Marathon will start and finish in front of the Gate Building in the beautiful Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Downloadable map available above.

When you get to the start?

Lots of signage will be at the start area and some of our friendly event staff will be there to remind you to maintain social distance, wear your face covering and use the sanitizer stations provided.

Can I change the distance on the day?

You must start in the distance that you have entered.

When the race starts?

The start of the race will be slightly different to what you may be used to as we need to control the release of runners onto the route. Please be patient and follow instructions from race officials as we bring each line of runners to the start line.

Out on the race route?

Face masks can be removed once you have crossed the start line, but please try to continue social distancing as you make your way around the race route.

The route will be traffic-free and will be very well signed to ensure that you can have the most enjoyable run possible.

Event staff will be located across the race route. If you need any assistance while on the route, please alert any of the staff members.

Your safety is our top priority. We are working closely with relevant partners during the planning of the Mai Dubai City Half Marathon to make sure that all necessary procedures are in place. There will be Covid-19 protocols in place for the event and we thank you in advance for your understanding as these will be implemented.

For the safety of others, please do not attend the event if you are experiencing Covid symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who is showing symptoms or has contracted the virus in the seven days before the event.

Mai Dubai Water will be available after you finish, and our staff will also be handing out face masks.

Our event staff will direct you through the finish system to collect your well-deserved medal and souvenir T-shirts.

In line with our social distancing protocols, medals and T-shirts will be collected from self-serve points in the secondary finish area. Please take the T-shirt size that you requested when you registered for the event.
